I answered her question, intending to send it to the list, and realize
now that I didn't address it right. Here is one way to add a place to
the place list:

Add a temporary fake fact to any individual, and put the place you want
in the place field for the fact. Then delete the fact.

When you go back to the place list, your new place will be there.
