Dick and Margaret Scheffler have both posted some great advice on importing
GEDCOMs and I am glad to have a review now and then. I would like to add,
please, please, don't put notes in place fields, and also, clean up your place
list so the place names are consistent. Look up the counties. A lot of towns no
longer exist, and if you can't find it, include a note as to where you think
it might have been. Anyone who gets your data will thank you and thank you
again.
