I'm aware of the custum report sort options (see my Jul 18th message
under the subject: "Dividing data base by Surname_?X". But the reason
I want to do this to the search list is because so many reports/lists
print out with the names in the default order. The Kinship List is a
perfect example and it is confusing to see your son listed before your
great grandfather. I've corrected this by making my sort code part of
the surname. But, as I said in the last paragraph of the 7/18 post,
I could get the same results by shifting the sort code over to Ref#.
