Yes, you can only have one display one list, or for that matter only one
sub window of any kind, at a time.
You can, however, print one of the lists to a TXT file, where it will
open in Notepad, WordPad or whatever and you can see it along side of
the next list you lay in RootsMagic.
For Instance:
-- List > Place List -
----Print -- Print all places in database, -- Uncheck "show events" and
choose other options, probably none,
and finally Print to TXT file. - give it a name so you can remember to
delete it after you are through with it.
When the file opens, close the RootsMagic Place List and open the Source
List and arrange them so you can see both.
OF COURSE, you cannot edit any place names or anything in your database
from the Notepad listing.
