Barbara,
That is a known limitation within Publisher. There is also a limitation on
the size a picture can be on the cover page.

Many on the list have indicated they create the cover page in a word
processor or other program when they want to have multi-line titles and/or
sub-titles, or to have a full page background graphic. There you can format
the elements the way they want to see them. This is one method to get around
the limitation when creating a printed book.

I like Alfred's suggestion to put the title and sub-titles into a graphic
file and use only the graphic on the cover. You could also include the
author's name at the bottom of the graphic if you wish. Note, you will be
limited to a graphic image of between 5 by 5 inches and 6 by 6 inches. Any
larger will be scaled down to fit. If you have a larger rectangular image it
will be scaled down to the maximum width or height. You'll have to play with
it to see how it comes out.

If you are creating an RFT file to take into your word processor, you can
create the cover page and massage the title pages as you want in the word
processor. However there are limitations on what reports you can include if
you take your book into a word processor.

If you want to create a book in PDF format, and you don't have Adobe Acrobat
software or similar software that lets you insert pages into an existing PDF
file, you are limited to the basic defaults within Publisher and the graphic
image for the cover page seems the best solution.

I personally create a separate Cover Page and have the printer print it on
heavier card stock then insert it at the front before they do the binding.
(These have been very small runs so far.)

I have submitted a request to have Publisher enhanced in this area, but
we'll have to wait for a future version of RM.

Hello all,
I'm sending this again as I do not see that it came through. If some folks
get it twice, please excuse the duplication.

When I go into publisher and click on Cover Page - and then click on Options
how can I produce a title that is more than 1 line and each line centering?
The same would seem to hold true for the Title Page. I hope I am explaining
myself here. This seems to be my first hurdle, :-). Should I use Blank
Pages for these in order to be able to have such a long title? I had almost
decided to try to my book in Word, but am having some second thoughts about
this.

Thanks so much.
