Perhaps this aspect has been covered but just in case. I can make
RootsMagic behave as you see it by going into tools and unchecking the box
that says: "Automatically open text editor after printing to a text file."
It saves the file and then I have to open it in a separate operation.

After I go again into tools and recheck that same box, RootsMagic saves the
file and then opens in Notepad or Wordpad (which ever I have selected as the
default).
