I am really enjoying this thread; I am learning a lot.

I like to see the census facts all in a row, so I put in a census fact for
1890, saying the census was destroyed as well as the 1790 VA Census for that
matter. If I can't find the household, I put the census fact with my search
notation--'undiscovered in XXX County of XX state" or does not appear in
Ancestry's Index or whatever is the status my research. I like having the
information there, at a glance. My wish/dream is to have a place to enter
the census taker's info, in fields as they appear each decade. I see that
some of you type all that in, but it is a daunting task for me. I wish there
was a census:child fact, too. I enter a census fact for a child and then
give the paren'ts census report as the source. I also download the census
image from ancestry and add it as multimedia in the source. I also cull
facts such as living/occupation/birth facts using the census as source.
