Heather, how about just keeping the master database, then, when you need
a copy of just your maternal or paternal sides, just drag that half into
another database. Don't do changes in this database.
But then again, I can't see why you would want to work on the two sides
separately. Since you are the only person entering data, the program
recognizes that multiple records are the same person when you merge. I
have never lost data by merging.
I would like to hear from Keith as to an example where data was actually
lost in a merge. I'm sure Bruce would like to know of missing data also,
and if the example can be replicated.
