Unless you have a special folder set up for backups then leave the selection blank. RM 4 wants to backup to the MyDocuments folder and gets rebellous if it or another is selected.
This is probably because when you use the flash drive if the software has this box filled in, it will cause problems.Removing the choice contents fixed it for me during the Community beta trial run.

I had that problem -- seem as though I was trying to back up to a
non-existant directory -- make sure the path to where you want to back up to
exists. ( Foler paths are under TOOLS ->PROGRAM OPTIONS ->FOLDERS.

Took 8 seconds to load a 16,800+ file on XPpro/ AMD 3000+, 2.15 G/2GB of
RAM. That ain't slow!
