new.familysearch.org is the LDS site for LDS's newfamilysearch database for
LDS members only. RootsMagic 4-5 interrogates from the same database. You
can turn this feature on & off in RM4-5 and use when ready. IF you are LDS,
you can work now from RM instead of the new.familysearch.org site. I
actually find RM4-5 FamilySearch interrogation works much better than the
LDS site. It also saves from working from 2 different websites at the same
time, plus (it seems to me) that RM Familysearch works much smoother and
better than NFS and allows you to up & download facts into RM4-5 & NFS.

I also understand that when the newfamilysearch database goes public, it
will be renamed "Family Tree" and available at Familysearch.org, under the
"Search" tab. Non-LDS will have to create their own User ID & password, or
use your current ID, if you have already created one earlier (ie: indexing,
etc). The login will tell the database if you are a LDS member or not, and
then will supply the appropriate features.

I don't think Bruce can predict when "Family Tree" will become available to
the public, but feel quite comfortable in saying that when it happens - He &
RM will be ready & be quite functional. All you will have to do is "turn it
on when you want to use it."

(Note: LDS features have always been available in Bruce's database since the
ancient days of Family Origins)
