Hello Mary,

Before you begin a search in Ireland, it's important to gather all the
information you can in the USA. You didn't indicate what sources you have
already checked, so here's a list of possibilities: Death record, obituary,
cemetery records and stone, will, probate, marriage, citizenship, military,
land, tax records and county histories. That's a long list, and there are
certainly more ideas to be had, but I hope it gets you started on finding
more background information on your great grandfather.
