Hi Mary Lee -
Thank you for your response. My search reveals that my ggrandfather
Michael Garrahan/Garraghan was born in Kilbride Parish, Castlemine townland
(Cashelmeehan in the gaelic). His father was Hugh Garrahan and his mother
was Bridget Fox. As this is the only townland where both of these names
appear I believe this to be correct. The parish register shows four of Hugh
& Bridget's children, but Michael is not listed as his birth is prior to the
register's beginning. His wife, Mary Reynolds, is also a mystery as to her
townland. I feel that the obits of other Reynolds or Dunagin's in
Burrillville may shed some light on their origin. Unfortunately, I am
living in the South and unable to personally check old newspaper microfilm
in the local libraries.

While I have extensive obits for my Andrew Burns (Beirne/Bern et al) in
Uxbridge, Ma. none list his townland in County Roscommon, nor does his
naturalization papers. His mother was Sarah Burke Burns and while I have
found a death cert. for her from 1884 in Uxbridge, it does not list her
townland. I have not found an obit for her. I am pleased to hear any
suggestions.
Many thanks,
Jeannine
