I'm sure every genealogist who has a Ross-shire ancestor must have a ROSS
(or probably more than one family of them) in there somewhere. Often
postings refer only to the parish which an ancestor has been traced back to
and, if most of you are like me, you don't reply to the query because the
chances of a connection are minimal due to the many, many ROSSES in that
parish.
A suggestion: How about posters having a fast and furious posting of their
Ross-shire ROSS interests again but this time WITH ASSOCIATED FARM NAMES
SHOWN FOR THE PARISH? A date peiod always helps of course (as on the
Surname list). Then some of us might just connect?

I'll start the ball rolling:

ROSS: Dalmore in Strathrusdale, in Rosskeen: c1760 - c1800. The family
whose 1792 wedding sparked the "Year of the Sheep".
ROSS: Breakach (probably in Strathrusdale), in Rosskeen: c1800 - 1830.
ROSS: Highfield, in Urray: c1800 - c1830.
ROSS (Ann bc 1788): unfortunately I don't have exact locality, Tain: c1808.

Send in those ROSSES!
Perhaps we can later do the same for those many MUNRO lines which invariably
accompany the ROSSES!
