Hi all,

It's time I posted my "brick-wall" again:

My GGGGF were Kenneth MATHESON/MATHISON/MATHIESON & GGGGM Christian MUNRO. I
have no information on their births or marriage, but they had a lawful son
Alexander b 29 Aug 1794 in Balintraid (near Invergordon) in Kilmuir Easter
Parish. The next traces are my GGGF William b Glasgow High Parish 25 May
1804, Isabella Rutherford Mathieson b Glasgow High 24 Aug 1807,
Mary Ann b Glasgow High 10 Oct 1809 and Robert b Lanark 27 May 1814. There
was also a son James b abt 1802-1803 but not registered in Scotland. I
suspect Kenneth was in the Army between 1794 and 1804, and was definitely in
the Inverness-shire Militia between 1804 and 1810, so perhaps James was born
elsewhere in, or outwith, the UK if Kenneth was in fact in the Army
pre-1804. His occupations are given as shoemaker (1794 & 1804), militia
soldier (1807 & 1809), and by 1814 he was working as a cotton teaser in the
mills at New Lanark. I have no firm info on dates or place of death. If
anyone has any data on these people I'd love to hear from them.

Regards,
Ken Mathieson,
Uddingston, Lanarkshire
