Dear Greg, Within the Parish Register of Tain which I researched some time
ago, there was recorded the birth of a distant Ross ancestor Isobell
Ross/McGillandrus born 19 October 1785 witness at baptism was a David Roy
(Weaver).

This same David Roy is witness to several of the family baptisms and I would
construe from this that he must have married into the female line of the
Ross family ie to a sister of Andrew Ross (father of the above) or Katherine
McFinlay (mother)

If this is the area and the place you are researching, then I recommend that
you check this film....(magnifying glasses required <g>) Val Smith

Dear list,

Searching for any information on the Roy's from Ross and Cromarty.

Also any info on Viking Raids / Settlement to the area.

Anyone ( especially Roy's ) with Dupuytrens Contracture ( growths on tendons
in hands and feet )
