Just when I think I am getting somewhere I go several steps back! I have an Iredell County 1812 deed referring to John FORSYTHE selling William HARBIN 406 acres on the NORTH side of the SOUTH Yadkin & LITTLE DUCKMAN's CREEK. Is there such a place? DUTCHMANS Creek runs off the YADKIN itself and the NORTH side of that would be present day Davie County. Does Dutchman's Creek eventually get over into Iredell County? IF I assume that Dutchman's equals Duckman's, which I do, this will present a big genealogical problem, but I did a search on Duckman's and couldn't turn up such a place. Does anyone know? This sounds to me like just one of the inconsistencies we find with spelling of surnames.
