I skipped a step in the site search for the Library of Congress map collection.

Should read:

Do a Google search for "Library of Congress American Memory"; should take you to the home page.
Choose "Maps" in "Collections by Topic"; THEN click on "Maps and Cartographic Items 1500-present"
THEN go to "Search by Keywords", lower left corner.....
