I think this needs to be clarified. This is not what I intended at all.
I'm NOT asking for submission of the names of ALL participants. I want to
focus on the ones which belong to those who owned property or lived in
Guilford County, as that page is part of Guilford County NCGenWeb. I do NOT want to
list the hundreds and hundreds of men who were involved in the Regulator
movement all over piedmont Carolina. I did list a few of the leaders of the
movement, but there is a red asterisk before the names of those who have
Guilford associations, and that is most of the group on that page. For the most
part, I do want to keep the list on the Guilford site confined mostly to those
who lived in Guilford County at some point. As the Battle of Alamance
occurred in what was then Orange County, close to the Guilford line, I do not want
to tread on Orange County toes in any regard. However, there was an exchange
of e-mails recently on the Guilford County mailing list as to the identities
of the Guilford men who participated in the Regulator movement, which
started well before Guilford County was created in 1771, and that is why I set the
page up - to help descendants of Guilford families identify any ancestors who
participated in the movement.
