We are saddened to report the death of Long time RAMSHA supporter Frank
Steely. Some of you might remember Frank from our very first Gathering. His
wife Martha Pelfrey is a founding member of RAMSHA was our first Vice
President. Frank who was 85 died Monday morning, November 29., at Highland
Spring, Fort Thomas from natural causes.
He was the founding president of Northern Kentucky University and
served in that capacity from 1969 to September 1975. He taught history at the
University till 2001. He started as President when NKU was Northern Kentucky
state College.When he completed his tenure the university had 6,000.00. It
now has nearly 16,000. He has been called the cornerstone of the
university. "Frank was given the Herculean task of building a unversity from the
ground up and he suceeded"Present President Jim Votruba.
Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church,
Coldspring, Ky with service to follow. Burial will in Hazel, KY.
