I just saw your message. Assuming no one else has answered your question.
The name Runciman is Scottish.

On the internet there a great many discussions as to the name and its
variations, so I will not go into that.

I am interested in your grandfather Luis.Runciman. I just found out that I
might have some Purvian relatives thru my great great great grandfather,
James Runciman, whose grandson, George A(nderson?) Runciman, settled in
Peru around 1864 to 1887. I know very little about him.

If you could visit his grave site maybe his tombstone has information about
him.

Well we have runciman' families in The Marina of Peru...
