Esther Ehrlich, 89, longtime Wiggins area resident, died Friday in
Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins.
Mrs. Ehrlich was born July 25, 1914, to John and Katrina Weiderspon in
Severance. She married Robert Ehrlich June 2, 1933, in Fort Collins. In 1946
her family moved to the Goodrich area and made their home on the farm. In
1957, they turned their farm over to their son, Marvin, and moved to Wiggins
There, they operated the hotel, motel and several rentals. In 1975,
they sold the hotel and built a home near the Bijou No. 2 Reservoir
northwest of Wiggins.
Mrs. Ehrlich enjoyed cooking and being with family and friends. She
was a first generation American from German-Russian parents and was quietly
very proud of her generation's ability to overcome the difficulties
associated with being a new immigrant.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Wright of Fort Collins; six
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Ehrlich was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her daughter,
Roberta; her son, Marvin, and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Windsor Cemetery. Heer
Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
