The Canadian naturalization database is a little hard to find on the
website

after you go to
http://www.genealogy.gc.ca

click on Genealogical Research
then in the left hand column click on Database
then click on 1915-1932 Canadian naturalization

or go directly to the database
http://www.genealogy.gc.ca/01/010203_e.html
and then click on search

Here is another link that tells you how to obtain copies of
naturalization records if you find something in the database. I
understand thought that the naturalization records don't contain much
genealogical information.
http://www.archives.ca/02/020202/02020219_e.html

The Canadian naturalization databases contain references to about
200,000 people who applied for and received status as naturalized
Canadians from 1915 to 1932. These names were published in the annual
report of the Canada Gazette. It appears that Russian immigrants
represent less than 10% of the total naturalizations on this list.

The information is in 2 different databases so be sure to read the Need
help? on the search page because it is kinda confusing. What you mostly
get is a list of pages with the aphabetical range your surname could be
found on. You need to check the appropriate range for each year to see
if your surname is listed there. To view the pages you need adobe
acrobat. Most computers have it and if you don't it can be downloaded
for free.

The information contained in the publication includes
Name, Country, Date of Certificate, or Date of Oath of Allegiance,
Occupation, Residence and No & Series.

The minor children are listed with fathers. And starting in 1925 the
wife is also listed.
>From the sample surnames from my village listed below, many of our
Russian German ancestors did become naturalized and this database is a
very helpful resource. If anyone is wondering what the occupation car
repair is listed below, this was railroad car repair for the CPR
railroad, not automobile repair.

~~~~~~~
For example I found this Hergert from my ancetral village:
NameCountryDateOccupationResidence No & Series
Hergert, Conrad RussiaJan 14, 1922 Machinist HelprCalgaryT917R
Hergert, AdamMinor Child
Hergert, ConradMinor Child
Hergert, PeterMinor Child
Hergert, Conrad RussiaSept 28, 1927Car RepairCalgary
Hergert, Marie Elisabeth (Morasch) Wife
Hergert Marie Minor Child
And now we have a wife with her maiden name, that is quite a find.
