This probably is the BIGGEST FIND EVER on the Internet -
I feel like I've jsut discovered Amerika :-))

This is an on-line search site for Hessen, in German only,
but I found some 2 971 surname mentions (many duplicate no doubt)
which show which families emigrated to Russia in 1766.

(the data bank is even huger for 1824 emigration)
and also has data for America...it's all to huge to place all this on
this short e-mail letter.

Therefore - what I am going to do, is copy the surnames of persons who
left Hessen for Russia in 1766 (this will take me a little while),
then i shall post the result.
