Frieda Ruff

March 20, 1916 - June 6, 2006

Frieda Ruff, 90, of Fort Collins, was born in Windsor to Henry and Mary Rutz. Mrs. Ruff grew up in Windsor and attended Windsor schools. On Feb. 20, 1936, she married Dave Ruff in Greeley. They farmed in the Fort Collins and Windsor area. Mrs. Ruff was a homemaker until their children were grown, then she worked as the head cook at the South Eventide Nursing Home (now Spring Creek Nursing Home) and was later employed by the Senior Chuck Wagon preparing meals for the elderly. She enjoyed crocheting, flower gardening - geraniums were her specialty - and she also enjoyed walking. She especially enjoyed walking with friends at the Foothills Mall. Mrs. Ruff was a wonderful mother and never stopped caring for and "mothering" her children. Her attitude was, "once a mother, always a mother." She was a member of Faith United Church of Christ in Windsor.

Mrs. Ruff died Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at the Columbine Care Center West in Fort Collins.

She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Bauer and husband, Gene, of Greeley and Karen McDaniel and husband, Larry, of Fort Collins; three sons, Olin Ruff and wife, Jackie, of Fort Collins, David Ruff and wife, Nancy, of Windsor and Ron Ruff and wife, Paula, of Fort Collins. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She is preceded by her parents, husband, brother and two sisters.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Faith United Church of Christ in Windsor.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Adamson Windsor Chapel.

Interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Windsor.
