Theodore "Ted" Fritzler, 84, of Sterling, died Oct. 24, 2006, in Sterling.
Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at Chaney-Reager
Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at First
Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Mike Wolford officiating. Burial will be
at Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Fritzler was born Feb. 22, 1922, in Sterling to Edward and Ann E.
(Ruppel) Fritzler. He attended schools at Springdale and at Sterling, where
he graduated from high school, and went to NJC for two years.
On Dec. 25, 1943, he married Mildred J. Hunker in Sterling. He was a farmer
and cattle feeder until his retirement, and was a lifetime resident of
Sterling.
Mr. Fritzler was a stock holder of the Sterling Beef Plant. He was a member
of First Presbyterian Church in Sterling, where he was a deacon and elder of
the church, and a lifetime member of B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 1336. He was also
a member of Cosmopolitan Club.
He was active in the Cattleman's Association, Mountain States Beet Growers
Association and the Soil Conservation District. He loved to travel and
enjoyed being with his nephews and nieces.
Mr. Fritzler is survived by his wife, Mildred Fritzler of Sterling;
brothers, Leon Fritzler and wife Beverly, Albert Fritzler and wife Bessie,
Edward Fritzler and wife Dona, all of Sterling; one sister, Frieda Knaub of
Sterling; brothers-in-law, Melvin Hunker of Alberta Lea, Minn., and Darrel
Bonham of Sterling; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Amelia Schott, Mary
Lebsack, Irene Eisenach, Lydia Meisner, Katherine Brunkhardt; and one
brother, Robert E. Fritzler.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Scholarship Fund in
Sterling.
