Esther Hergenreder

Aug. 24, 1928-April 15, 2008

Age: 79

Residence: Kersey

Tribute: Esther Hergenreder was born in Eaton to Alex and Kathrine (Stoll) Oblander. She graduated from Gill High School in 1946 and then attended Business College of Denver. She worked for Montgomery Wards and the Great Western Sugar Co.

On Sept. 25, 1949, she married Richard Hergenreder. They moved to Kersey, where she worked at the Platte Valley Grade School for five years and then at the Motor Vehicle Department for 26 years.

Mrs. Hergenreder was a member of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia and the Red Hat Society. She was an avid dancer and loved to watch her grandchildren's sport activities. She also enjoyed fishing and genealogy. She traveled to Germany, Italy, Austria and Switzerland. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.

Mrs. Hergenreder died Tuesday at North Colorado Medical Center.

Survivors: Three sons, Larry and wife Maureen of Greeley, Steve and wife Loni of Maricopa, Ariz., and Dave and significant other Dawn of Kersey; a daughter, Kathy White and husband John of Kersey; six grandchildren; two brothers, Herman Oblander and wife Rose of Hillrose and Raymond Oblander of Greeley; a sister, Alma Roberts of Henderson, and special friend, Chuck Winter.

Preceded in death by: Her husband and two sisters.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at St. John's United Church of Christ, Greeley.

Interment: Linn Grove Cemetery, Greeley

Visitation: 5-7 p.m. today at Adamson West Chapel.
