I have added maps showing Volga villages, to the Schilling web
site. They are accessed from here:
http://wathenadesigns.com/Schilling/maps.html

Click on the links at the bottom of the page labelled "Saratov
Province in the 1800's" and "Samara Province in the 1800's".
Alexandertal was located about 169 kilometers (105 miles)
south-southwest of Saratov.
Neu-Schilling I was was located about 153 kilometers (95
miles) southeast of Saratov in Samara Province
Neu-Schilling II was located about 39 kilometers southeast of
Krasny-Kut
Schilling and Konstantinovka was located about 129
kilometers (80 miles) southeast of Saratov.
Marriages among German-Russians were many times between
people of adjacent villages or between people who were in the
same church district. Alt-Schilling was part of the Beideck
parish, although there was a church in Schilling. The regional
church for the Neu-Schilling I and Neu-Schilling II daughter
colonies was Friedenfeld.
