Thank you for your quick response. I have been searching for a long
time but have not had much luck with Russian records. Thanks to your
group I have found some information and I enjoy reading all the mail and
websites listed.
Thank goodness we don't use and re-use names today like they did back
then. I have so many Henry's and Fredericks in my family that it can
become confusing at times. The Amelia I spoke of married Henry Eifert,
b 1873. Amelia was one of 5 children, 3 boys and 2 girls. Amelia and
Henry had 2, Amelia and Irma, children when they came to the US but had
2 boys, Alexander and Henry who had died in Russia. We don't know where,
but they were children.
Also, Amelia's sister, name unknown, married a Kaltenburger who was a
member of the Red Army.
Is there somewhere I can go to get this information rather than giving
you more to do? I'd be more than happy to do the research myself. At
the very least I would like to pay you for your help and information.
I'm originally from MI but live in NE TN now. IF there is anyone who
needs information from TN I'd more than happy to try and find it. I am
going to MI in 2 weeks to do some research again but my time is very
limited.
Thanks again!!!!

Do you have an exact date of birth for Amelia Filbert?
The name Max is very none standard for a German-Russian. In 12000
people in the Schilling and Dobrinka databases, I have no other
occurences
of that name. The reason I bring that up is because German-Russians, in
Russia, were very repetetive in names they used. In a given family, the
same 2 dozen or so names were used over an over for male and female.
Going one step further, they seemed to have a list made up of what names
they would use, and in what order. There are numerous cases where they
named a child one name, say Johann Georg Filbert. If Johann Georg
Filbert
died at a young age, and no other male child had been born, if they had
another son, he would be named Johann Georg Filbert.
Do you have a spouse for Amelia Filbert?
Do you know anything about any brothers or sisters?

Thank you for asking. I'm searching for Amelia Filbert, b 1881. Our
records show her fathers name was Max Filbert and mother Catherine
Riedel, all from Shilling. Any information would be appreicated.
Thank you,

I'm interested in hearing from everyone that is subscribed to this
mailing list
which is for people researching their German-Russian ancestors from the
village of Alt-Schilling (the original village), Schilling,
Konstantinovka,
Alexandertal and the two Neu Schilling villages.
What surnames are your researching from these villages?
