Yes, realize he was in the US, which makes no sense. Although it doesn't
say it, the only other thing I can think is that it means that it doesn't have to
serve active duty, because his brother served, and they just put him in the
reserves.

But if they knew he had left the country, or did the military? When he left,
they had no idea thqt he was coming back. Very strange.
