Virginia. Forgive me if I have sent these to you earlier. CBR

Sale of property from Richard and Nelly Blanton to Lucretia, Richard, John,
David, William & Sarah Rutledge. Property in Charlotte Co VA. Blanton of
Prince Edward Co. April 1, 1793.

p. 5 "George Walker, road to be cleared from the mouth of Bush River below
the mouth of Sandy River into Walker's road by Rutledge and Walker and
Nash's hands, 1740. (Amelia order Book 1:132)
"John Nash, road from Bush River Bridge across Sailor's creek into Walkers
road, with his male tithables and those of James Rutledge, Richard Rutledge
(et al), 1743. (Amelia order book 1:248)
p. 17 "Linked Rutledge's Ford on the Appomattox (the present Farmville)
with a road through Lunenburg near the head of Little Roanoke River" (1749-50)
p. 22. George Walker was a magistrate in Amelia.
p. 63-64 Richard Rutledge elected sexton at Sandy River, succeeded by wife
Judith in 1757. St. Paticks Parish.
p. 737 A private, Dudley Rutledge in Capt. John Morton's Company of
Regulars 4th VA. 1776 (original in U.S. Pension Office). (from "V.M.H.B

Augusta Co. Will Book 1 1745-1753 Reel 41, p. 390-391.
John Rutledge Will lists "aged father;" nephew, George R., Jr.; was in
partnership with James Bell (land on the Long Glade?) possibly from
Thomas Gyles by deed of release; brother William R; brother Thomas R;
Will made October 17, 1751. Witness: William Armstrong, John Flood, Hugh
Means. Court held November 26, 1752 will presented in court by Thomas R.
Exec. Thomas R; William Thompson and William Preston bound to John Lewis
(Apparently to execute will).

George Rutledge Jr. power of atty to Wm. Preston & Bob Cunningham to
dispose of property: 238 acres in the fork of the James River. Geor.
Rutledge Junior intends to go to colony of Carolina.
August Co Will Book 7/8/9/ Reel 45, Book 7(?), p.1.
Edward Rutledge, wife Sarah (bible went to Sarah). Daughter Rebecca,
Son James, Daughter Rosana, Son George (receives livestock so may have
remained in area). Son in law John Allison & his two sons (?)John Allison &
James Allison. Lucy Allison is wife of John Allison Jr., (all my children
viz???) Mary Erwin, wife of William Erwin, Lucy Allison wife of john
Allison Jr., Rebeckah Rutledge, Sarah McNeely, wife of George M. McNeely,
James Rutledge, Rosanna Rutledge and George Rutledge. Signed 1 January
1787. Presented at court 20 Feb. 1787, note at bottom: see the record of
this Will in book #6. Inventory, same book pp.10-15 Account settled.

Thomas Rutledge Will. Wife Jean. Son James, son Edward, owned
"plantation". Apprentice boy John Fogle. "Negro wench" Chloe. Chloe can
choose which of
4 sons to live with: James, John, Thomas, Edward. Brothers to set price
and one chosen to pay others their share. Negro man Daniel to Thomas @
Edward. Gave land in Botetourt Co. to James & John (N. fork of Roanok).
Thomas and Edward received the plantation. Another plantation in Carolina
on a branch of fishing creek (100 acres?) to 4 sons to be sold and divided.
Dau. Katherine(a?). Katherine rec'd 1 shilling. Son George - 1 shilling.
Daughter Ann Henderson - one shilling. Daughter Mary Young - 1 shilling.
Dau. Jean Brooks - 1 shilling. Dated 10 October 1785. Presented in court
21 June 17(unreadable 1787?) Next entry is October 1787.
p. 438 Inventory of estate of Thomas Rutledge, order of June Court 1798
(includes named negroes above) Chloe and Daniel plus a negro man named Mapes?
