Pardon me, Rutledge Searchers, but I'm very interested to find a Thomas
Rutledge and a wife named Matilda whose 4 of 12 children married into my
Thomas Gaw line of Greenville, SC. I see there were 2 Thomas Rutledges
mentioned in this Cupit Report and my ears perked up with reference to
North Carolina!

My 5th GGGGGF married a Nancy Hood in Feb,1799 (Bible reference) whose
father was Thomas Hood. Thomas's father was maybe? John Gaw whose widow
married Capt John Calhoun in 1790-91. Thomas Hood is not found in SC and
there are 3 NC Hood bros, 2 move to KY. John Calhoun was not related to
SC Calhoun family but maybe came from NC. I found the "M. Weber Rutledge
History" and there is not even a mention of a son, nephew or grandson
named Thomas with a wife Matilda something Rutledge. So, I'm going back
further and searching other nearby states, like North Carolina which has
Rutledges, Calhouns and Hoods.

Closest mention of Matilda Rutledge is Will of Benjamin Harris VA/TN
with 2 daughters, Leah and Tilda(Matilda?) Rutledge. R-4652 RW pension.

So, may I request closer scrutiny of any Thomas Rutledges mentioned in
this Cupit document, please. I hope somebody finds some concrete
information and will forward it to me.

Thank you

jean
