Subject: [RUTLEDGE] James of Lunenburg line: PartheniaG3, ParthenaG4, ParthenyG5

"Parthena" was an important clue:
Ron Rutledge comments on the popular Greek given name, Parthena used in at
least our Rutledge line. Variations used for three generations:
PartheniaG3, ParthenaG4, ParthenyG5!
Partheny Josephine Hance Reddick, "Generation 5," was my grandmother from
whom I learned the basics of note-taking, history, genealogy, Bible memory
tips, American Indian lore and more.
This might be useful for someone researching our Lunenburg Rutledge line---
James of Lunenburg lines - from notes on the life-long verification project:
Tee Rutledge, , wrote in 1999 [RtForum]:
Q: "Edward Co. Va? I do not know the maiden name of Joseph's wife Mary." Tee
Q&A: " I have that it is Mary Paschal. I think James Rutlidge/Rutledge who
married
Sarah is Joseph's father. Here is a cut and paste from my notes:
It is possible that Joseph Rutledge, Sr is the son of James
Rutledge and Sarah of Amelia Co., VA. Sarah died prior to 1747 and James
apparently married Mary Rutledge, widow of Thomas Rutledge of Amelia
Co., VA. (Deed Bk 2, Amelia Co., VA 1742-1747, 975.501 Am 3 d) They
owned land between Bush River and Sandy River part of which was given to
Mary in 1742 for having brought 3 immigrants over." Rosalyn Alsobrook,
(Orig notes"Jas of Lunenburg fr Rachel Clemons
1997" contains similar data)
