Can some please tell me if this means Littleberry Rutledge was cherokee and if so were did the cherokee ancestry come in at? Was it through Joseph Rutledge and Mary Paschal ?Was it through James Rutledge and Sarah, Joseph mother and father I have been searching a long time to find some proof on my Indian ancestors any help would be greatly appreciated thanks a bunch for any help in advance.Gloria

Little Berry Rutledge was born 1842 in Forsyth Co., GA, son of Joseph
and Melissa Ann McCay Rutledge, grandson of Littleberry and Nancy Farmer
Rutledge,
gr grandson of Joseph and Mary Paschall Rutledge, all desc. of "James of
Lunenburg, VA"
Was in Confederate Cherokee unit from AL.
Believe he died from complications of wounds and scurvy after being
captured by Union Army.
