In tracking down the graves of my grandfather Clarence W. Sackett's brothers,
I came across the following unrelated (to the best of my knowledge) Sacketts.

1. City Cemetery, Conneaut, Ashtabula Co., OH

Mary M. Sackett aged 30 years wife of David; 21 or 24 July 1870.

2. West Hill Cemetery, Galeton, Potter Co., PA

Katherine A. Sackett 1855-1929, born New York
James W. Sackett 1859-1951, born New York

While enjoying the beautiful fall colors at Kinsua Dam, Warren Co., PA, I
checked out a small town called Sackett in the forest of Elk Co., PA. All I
could find out in a nearby library was that it was named long ago after a Mr.
Sackett. Sometime I'll check the census to see if there was ever one listed
in that part of the woods. It was a logging town but now it's about a dozen
cottages in the Allegheny National Forest.

This summer was a rewarding one. I completed finding all the graves of my
grandfather's siblings. Too bad (how many of us have said this at one time
or another) I didn't ask my grandfather when he was living. Would have saved
lots of work! The last one I found in Galeton, PA. Not only did I find the
graves I had been hunting, but also their only daughter alive and well ready
to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. She was speechless when I
knocked on her door as she never knew what had become of her cousins--my dad
and my aunt. They had last seen each other over 60 years ago. We've exchanged
old family photos and are so excited about being kinfolk!
