Dear Cousins,
Here is a brief extract from:
"Directory of the Ancestral Heads of New England Families 1620-1700,
compiled by Frank R. Holmes, published by The American Historical Society,
Inc., New York, 1923."
"SACKET, SACKETT
JOHN, married at New Haven, Conn., 1652.
SIMON, brother of the preceding, came from Bristol, Eng., to Cambridge,
Mass, 1638, his widow became the wife of William Bloomfield and removed to
Hartford, Conn."
Comment
Holmes gives no sources whatsoever in his book! I find it extraordinary
that anyone would rush into print without quoting sources. I think it,
therefore, not worth trying to figure out how he thought Simon was the
brother of the John who m in 1652 nor why he reckoned Simon did not move to
Cambridge until 1638.
Regards,
Chris
