Good morning all!
I had a very successful trip to Warren, CT last evening. In the cemetery there I found the headstones for Reuben Sackett, Jonathan and Ann Sackett plus a HUGE stone commemorating the arrival of Simon Sackett in America!!! My pictures have yet to be developed, but I'm hoping that they turned out. There were many other Sacketts in the cemetery, especially Justus and Homer Sacketts' families.

The only bad news is that Reuban's stone was lying on the ground in 3-4 pieces and VERY hard to read. You could decipher the "Reu" and "ett" on two different stones.

What, if anything, do people do when they find stones like this? I took photographs, but in a short time you will not be able to tell that this is the spot for Reuben. This cemetery is very well kept up, but there were a few other stones with problems.

We went to Sharon, CT as well, that is where Reuban's wife is buried, but the task there was too daunting for the few minutes that we had.

On another note, I found references to the children of Jonanthan and Ann Filer Sackett, ie Reuban, Justus, et al being born in Kent or Warren, CT. not Hebron, Ct. The references were the vital records of those towns. I haven't seen the actual records, just the extracts.
