Help !!! I have a problem. [surprised???]

I've corresponded with a couple of people concerning Aaron Sackett m. Phebe Hart. And today; another person [Ed Page <>] who traces his ancestry back to this couple has emerged from the smoke [an inside joke about fires in his area that have sent smoke into my area of the country].

The problem is; which Aaron Sackett m. Phebe Hart?

The one that appears in the IGI is (544) Aaron Sackett b. 14 Jan 1767, son of (174) Benjamin Sackett and Deborah Buell. The following is from Kathy <>:

(This is what is in the IGI). Aaron married Phebe HART, 06 Jul. 1786 in Litchfield Co., CT. [This marriage date is rather precise. But is there a source to prove it? - T. King]
They had several children:
1) Hulda, b. 25 Jun. 1787; m. Stephen HYDE
2) Elizabeth, b. 08 Apr. 1789; m. Sewell GUNN
3) Clarissa, b. 26 May 1791; m. ? THOMPSON
4) Charles, b. 23 May 1793; died 07 Aug. 1789; m. Saloma BALCOM
5) Amanda, b. 17 Aug. 1795; died 28 Jan. 1871; m. Joseph REMINGTON
6) Phebe, b. abt. 27 May 1798; died abt. 1879; m. Levi NICHOLS (my ggggrand-
parents)
7) William, b. 02 Sept. 1800; m. Mercy Sleade EARLE
8) Electa, b. 28 Sept. 1802; m. ? HAMMOND
9) Nancy, b. 04 Jan. 1805; m. Joel HART
10) Malinda, b. 29 Oct. 1807; m. Albert WILLIAMS

Ed Page has the same info and the other correspondant, Britt Kammerer <>, gives the same ancestry for Aaron Sackett m. Phebe Hart but did not give all the children. I was given the URL for a site that has the genealogy of Stephen Hart and it gives the marriage of Phebe Hart to ______ Sackett

So, then, the Hart genealogy is not much help here.

Now, the problem concerning Aaron Sackett m. Phebe Hart was presented by Kathy. She asked: "Just for curiosity's sake, do you know if John Sackett of New Haven, CT, was the father of Aaron Sackett, who m. Phebe Hart???? I am descended from Aaron and Phebe, and was told by several people that he was the son of Dr. John Sackett. However, I have never found any proof of that." She also said: "That's why I have wondered just WHERE the person got the information she sent me. She claims it was from the Frederick Plummer Sackett book, and that he has Aaron Sackett, as the son of Dr. John Sackett. I have looked at Weygant and had noticed nothing in there on Aaron." [Does anyone have any info concerning a book by, or about, Frederick Plummer Sackett? - T. King]

Of course, Weygant does not have an Aaron as a son of (268) Dr. John Sackett. And the children listed for him, for which we have info, stayed in NY or moved to PA. However, a brother of Dr. John Sackett, (267) Richard Sackett, 1701-1771, moved to New Milford, CT. and then his son, (711) Richard Sackett, 1749-1789, moved from New Milford, CT. to Arlington, VT. But, there is no Aaron listed among the children of either of these men.

I did find an Aaron Sackett who lived in VT. and is listed as a grandson of (75) Capt. Richard Sackett, 16__-1746 near the end of Weygant's book. It appears that this was info that came to Weygant not long before he published his book. He does not give us what information he had that caused him to list Aaron as a grandson of Capt Richard:

occupation a farmer and resided near Rutland, Vermont. [Weygant gives no indication which one of
Capt. Richard Sackett's sons was the father of Aaron. - T. King] He had at least three

12720. William Sackett, b. Sept. 2, 1800, d. July 29, 1863; m. Mercy Sleade Earle.
12721. Charles Sackett.
Although Weygant said at least three, he only listed two. But these two children match two of the children listed, above, in the family of Aaron Sackett and Phebe Hart.

QUESTION: Does ANYONE have a source that shows, or gives a hint, as to the parents of Aaron Sackett who is said to have married Phebe Hart? A marriage record for their alledged marriage on 06 Jul. 1786 in Litchfield Co., CT.?
