I was looking over the recent information from ancestry.com and they had
an article about BLM land records which apparently just reopened. I
looked up Michigan where many of my relatives lived and though I don't
have Sacketts in that time frame there were many Sacketts listed. The
advantage is that they actually have copies of the land transactions.
The earlier 1800's dates also listed where the person came from. I
looked up the first one and he was Aaron Sackett of Steuben, New York.
This just might be another source if you're not already familiar. They
do not have land transactions for the 13 colonies and a few other
places.
