Fred,
I wish we had connected when you were in the area. I am about 30 minutes from Bridge Street Cemetery. Rufus William Sackett was my g-g grandfather.
His wife was Sarah Janes, not Jones and Thurmon has so noted. Their son John Sackett [6132 in S of A] is buried in Oak Grove cemetery in Spfld and
either you or I took a photo of that stone.
I have some info put out by the Northampton Historical Society [NHS] about Rufus that I will copy for this site. He was a cabinet-maker with a shop on
King street and the NHS has some of his "cottage furniture" in their possession. He also made coffins. His father was listed as a "shoemaker." As you
may know the Parsons family is a founding family [Rufus Sackett (1332) m. to Farnces Parsons] and one of the buildings that the NHS is housed in is the
old Parsons homestead. I attend the Parsons reunion each year w/ my mom [age 85] and this year was held @ Look Park in Northampton.
Best wishes,
Don
