1. I am Doyle Sanders. Although I do not use a tag, I do sign all of my correspondence
"Doyle in Indian Territory" in deference to my adopted state of Oklahoma whose eastern
half was known as Indian Territory before statehood in 1907.
2. My e-mail address is
3. My main interest in subscribing to this this list is obvious, I am a Sanders/Saunders
and my particular line of Sanders/Saunders has lived in this country for at least 10
generations. I believe we were here before 1650, I just need to find the links.
4. With proper care and word of mouth advertising this list will become self
perpetuating. I hyave already recommended it to my new found cousin in California,
Debbie and her family, whom I believe has already subscribed.
5. I am really looking for two "MOST WANTEDS": Joseph Saunders who came to this country
around 1720-1730, landing in North Carolina. Sanmuel moved to Maryland/Pennsylvania and
later to Kentucky (March 1779) Tennessee (August 1779-June 1780), Kentucky (June 1780),
however Joseph remained in North Carolina according to the Sanders family's oral
history.
Richard Sanders came to this country in 1623, a Lieutenant in the British Army assigned
to help protect the Englsih colony of Virginia or North Carolina. He died in battle in
1625. Seeking a link if there is one. I do not know if he had a family, the only
reference I have seen of him is the reference to his death which said he had arrived in
this country in 1623.
