Hi

I am a new subscriber. A genealogist in my wife's family traced her
Sanders/Saunders family back to a Tobias Saunders b. abt 1784 in NY d.
bef 1850 in Broome Co. NY. This Tobias married a Hannah Coleman and had
several children, two of which were James b. 1814 and Luke b. 1828.

I have noticed on the big New England families linked tree dealing with
the Tobias Saunders descendants of R.I., that there is a Tobias Saunders
son of John Saunders and Mary Closson that seems to fit this description
very well. That Tobias Saunders was born Dec. 4, 1783, d. Jun 22, 1849,
Broome Co. NY. However, no wife and children are given. Does anyone
know if these two Tobias Saunders are one in the same?
