John & Pat,
My gg-grandmother was Permelia Jane Sanders. She was born in Muhlenberg County,
Kentucky in 1836. She was married in Coles County, Illinois to my gg-grandfather,
James William Mount. They are shown in the 1860 Federal Census as seen below:
1860 Putnam Co., Clinton Twp., PO Bainbridge;
Family 386, Dwelling 408, CD Pg 54
G. W. MOUNT 21 IN Carpenter $0 / $30
Permelia MOUNT 22 KY
Mary MOUNT 01 IL
James was born c1838, died May 23, 1866
He was a private in the 32nd Illinois Infantry, Company C during the Civil War
Permelia was born October 14, 1836, died July 18, 1922.
They had three children, Mary Elizabeth, James William, and William F.
Permelia's father was Griffin Sanders, born c1797 in South Carolina.
I believe her mother was Hannah Stevenson.
Hopefully we can piece all of these Carolina>Kentucky>Indiana Sanders' together!
