Hey Don,
I agree totally, with everything that you've said. That's what I've read
and seen. Too bad, as I'm still looking for my ancestor's parents and
beginning to think we may never find them.
When's your next issue of SANDERS SIFTINGS coming out? I can't wait to get
it. I forgot, is it quarterly or what?
Best to you,
Gale Sanders

There is no such thing as the "first Sanders in America" that are limited
to even a handful of patriarchs. Sanders and Saunders came to America over
a long period of time and from many different locations in England,
Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, and God only knows where else. It is a
very common name. Since many of the early arrivals were from England or
other parts of the British Empire, they were not immigrants and we may find
no records. There are records of many who came as indentured servants. I
have found that most genealogists researching their Sanders or Saunders
have not been successful in "jumping the big pond" unless their immigrant
ancestors came in recent years. I would welcome other opinions.
