I'm trying to find the maiden name of my wife's great grandmother,
Eliza Luther Sanders. Eliza Luther was a widow with 3 children when
she married Martin S. Sanders on 29 March 1867 in Chickasaw County,
Mississippi. They had the following children: C. Adella, Mathew
Shelton, Arthur E., Ira B., John W., Allie J., and Mary Sanders.
Martin and Eliza migrated from Mississippi to Texas. The family is
listed in the 1870 Census for Collin Co., Texas and the 1880 Census
for Wise Co., Texas.

Eliza was born in South Carolina, as were her parents. I have several
pieces of information that suggest that her maiden name may have been
Harrell and her parents may have been Mathew Harrell and Cassa
Beasley. The Harrell family apparently moved from Darlington Co,
S.C,. to Mississippi after the 1850 census.

I assume that Eliza married her first husband, Mr. Luther, in
Mississippi since he was born there and their children all were born
in Mississippi, but I have been unable to to find a record of the
marriage. Their children were a daughter E.Henrietta Luther, born
about 1859, and two sons, Joseph or James H, born abt 1861 and John
Franklin, born abt 1863.

I would appreciate any information that helps identify Eliza Luther's
maiden name, parents, siblings or other details about her .
