I am posting this info in hopes it will help others who have posted a Jesse Sanders. I found my Emily Jane Sanders who married my Great grandfather, William J. Rodgers in Chickasaw County, MS. They were married Sept. 5, 1861 in Chickasaw County. I also found her and her family in the 1850 Chickasaw County Census. Her father was Jesse Sanders, mother was Katherine, and children. I have been told that Jesse was probably the son of Elijah B. and Lydia Sanders.

In the 1850 census, Jesse was listed as age 34, Katherine age 36, Emily J. age 15, William M. age 12 all born in Alabama. Then there were children: Liddia age 10, Eliza B, female, age 5, and Jesse age 1 all born in Mississippi.

Living next door, was George M. Sanders age 33, Lucinda age 33, Charles age 13, Elijah age 11, Liddia age 10, all born in Alabama, Elizabeth age 8, Sarah age 4 and William age 1 all born in Mississippi.

I thought I had found them in the 1860 Chickasaw census, but the info doesn't all fit. I will list it just in case someone else is looking for this family. Jessy Saunders age 49 born in Alabama, Kate age 50 born in Tennessee, Emily age 25 born in Alabama, William age 22 born in Alabama, Elijah, male, age 15 and Robert age 11 born in Mississippi.
