Compatriots - while I certainly do not wish to restrict
our rights to discuss whatever we feel pertinent to the
goals, purposes, or objectives of our Society, (and as Compatriot Craft
has correctly pointed out, accuracy in American History is one of our
important
objectives), protecting our 501(C)3 tax status is one of my responsibilities
as a National
Officer - we only recently recognized that the SAR-TALK-D Digest
did not carry the following disclaimer:
> ==== SAR-TALK Mailing List ====
> The views expressed here are those of the individual SARtalk submitter
> and do not necessarily reflect the views of the NSSAR, the state society,
> or the chapter to which he belongs.
The Digest will now carry this disclaimer and this should protect both our
tax status and the rights of individuals to discuss political issues
relevant to the interests of SAR - I also respectfully suggest that you
carefully
consider the comments of Compatriot Bob Copeland with respect to the
reality of dealing with the Federal Bureaucracy and act accordingly.
Thanks for your consideration - Henry N. McCarl, Treasurer General, NSSAR
