It is with sadness that I report the death of Major Charles H. Bonner (USAF-
RET). Charles was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He was twice
awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for actions during combat missions
over Europe in WWII. Charles was a devoted member of the NSSAR and served
the William Few Chapter, GASSAR in many capacities over the years. He
served as chairman of the chapter's JROTC Awards Committee for many years
and served as chapter president (1988-1990). He also served as GASSAR Vice
President for the Northeast Region (1991-1992) during the administration of
GASSAR state president, Charles Hal Dayhuff, III. Charles was awarded the
Distinquished Service Award (1990) and the Meritorious Service Medal (1998)
by the William Few Chapter. Major Bonner was a true Patriot who always had
words of encouragement for his SAR compatriots and we will miss him greatly.
Services are at 3:00 PM on Friday, February 15, 2003 at St. Thaddeus
