Subject: [[SAR-TALK]] Florida State Library
Hi All, Governor Bush of Florida has announced that he intends to close the
Florida State Library and Archives and disperse the contents to various
other agencies. At this time he has no idea where, although it was offered
to Florida State University, who refused on grounds that they were not able
to take care of the massive volume of books, artifacts and archives.
As compatriots of this organization it is one of duties to protect and
foster the preservation of our history. Please help with a phone call to the
Governor, and e-mail, letter to the editor or anything else that can be
brought to prevent this travesty.
Thank you all.
