DURHAM - Mrs. Nancy Schulken Glass, 97, widow of James Fuller Glass,
died Monday in Durham.
A native of Whiteville, daughter of the late James and Mary Anna Smith
Schulken, she graduated from James
Madison University and taught school in Whiteville at one time.

Mrs. Glass had been a resident of Durham for many years where she was
active in civic affairs and Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church. She was a member of Hope Valley Country Club
of which her husband was a
founding member, the Durham Junior League and the Durham Debutante Ball
Society.

Surviving are two granddaughters, Mary M. Moss of Raleigh and Nancy
McGranahan of Richmond, VA;
three great-grandsons, William Fuller Moss, John McLeod Moss and James
Alexander Moss, all of Raleigh,
and a nephew, Louis L. Sasser Jr. of Durham.
Mrs. Glass was predeceased by her daughter, Nancy Glass Hutchings and
her son, James Fuller Glass Jr.;
also five brothers and one sister.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2004, in
Maplewood Cemetery, section 1.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be made Immaculate Conception Catholic
Church, 810 W. Chapel Hill St., Durham, NC 27701.

Howerton & Bryan Funeral Home is assisting the Glass family.
