HI Judie,
I checked the NC Death Collection, 1908-1996 and didn't find a Joseph
Satterwhite what would fit. Do you by any chance have an idea if a time line of
when he might have died?
Take care - Emma

Joseph McDonald Satterwhite, son of John and Sally White Satterwhite served
in the Civil War. He resided in Granville Co., NC and enlisted at age 18 on
April 28, 1862. He was catured at the South Anna Bridge in VA on June 26,
1863 and was released and captured several more times until taking the Oath
of Allegiance and released on June 19, 1865. While our family has put a
marker at the Island Creek Baptist Church in Williamsboro, NC next to Joseph
McDonald's son (my grandfather), we do NOT know where Joseph McDonald
Satterwhite is buried and so this is what is needed.
